Hey guys, today I want to share with you my super-easy 5-minute holiday table. This was my Thanksgiving table this year but it could easily work for a Christmas table, New Year’s Eve, baby shower, holiday party, or any other event. It’s elegant, rustic, beautiful, and best of all, simple! It’s not going to take you an hour to put together. Once you have the few supplies you need, it takes 5 minutes. My supply list is short and simple and I used several things I already had.
This year, I was really unsure of what I wanted my table to look like–color scheme, style, etc. Plus, I was extra busy so I waited until 2 nights before Thanksgiving to figure it out. I walked into Michael’s and prayed it would just come to me, and luckily, it did.
Once I found these chargers, I had to have them. I love the rustic look and the greens, blues, and aqua hints. What goes better with rustic than burlap? Nothing. I found this long burlap table runner and loved it, but it needed a little chic glam. So, I headed over to the ribbon aisle and found this aqua lacy ribbon that I knew I wanted to incorporate somehow into the design. After that, I went on the search for plates. I typically use paper for thanksgiving because I’ve got young kids, but it’s always a gorgeous, elegant paper plate. As soon as I found Martha Stewart’s collection, I knew I was in the right place. The mint green highlights the hints of green in the chargers and the gold trim brings the glam. You can just as easily use plates you already have. I actually have some pretty white plates with gold trim I got at Dollar Tree a couple years back and used them in both my ‘Dollar Store Thanksgiving Table‘ and my ‘Dollar Store Christmas Table.’ The rest of my table decor I already had so it made for a super-easy shopping experience and inexpensive tablescape. Here’s my list of supplies:
Supplies
- Rustic chargers or placemats
- Burlap Table Runner
- Blue Lacy Ribbon
- Elegant Paper Plates
- Wine glasses with gold rim (optional)- I got mine at Dollar Tree
- Napkins (again, I used paper)
- Ivory taper candles, 2
- Gold candlesticks, 2 (I got mine at a yard sale, here are some similar ones)
- Pinecones (I picked mine up at the local park. You can also buy them here)
Instructions
- Place burlap table runner on table and cut to size if needed (mine ended up fitting perfectly so I didn’t need to resize).
- Cut lacy ribbon to size and tie around ends of burlap. (I folded the burlap underneath slightly to get a beautiful and symmetrical fold and then tied the lace around, making a Victorian-looking bow).
- Make place settings using chargers, plates, glasses, napkins, and silverware.
- Arrange pinecones in center of table.
- Place candles on either side of pinecones.
- Wait for guests to be wowed at the beautiful simplicity of your elegant, yet rustic holiday table.
This literally took me 5 minutes. Once I had all the supplies out, it was so easy. I hope this gave you some inspiration for your own 5-minute holiday table. Be sure to use things you already have and always check thrift stores and yard sales. Plus, decorating with nature will give your table a fresh and rustic feel and is usually free and easy.
