Earlier this week on Instagram, I shared a photo of my newly cleaned and organized makeup. To me, cleaning up my makeup, scrubbing my bathroom countertops, and organizing all my beauty products is akin to freshly washed bedsheets. It feels so good. I use powder foundation–bareMinerals to be exact, and the dust tends to get everywhere. So every few weeks I clean every beauty product, scrub the counters, and put everything back in its spot. In between, it can get pretty messy. I’m not the most organized person, but I try!
Something that really helps me stay (mostly) organized is my countertop makeup organizer. Huz got it for me for Christmas a few years ago. It’s not the one I wanted (designed by Lori Greiner), but It’s still useful and has a place for all my products. I like that it spins and there’s room on top for my makeup brushes. Before this, I had one big bin for all my products and it was a mess. I could never find anything and I’m pretty sure I was late to work several times because my makeup was so unorganized. I haven’t had this issue since getting a makeup organizer. I separate my products by body part they’re used for…i.e. eyes (mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc.), lips (lipgloss, lipstick, lipliner, etc.), cheeks (bronzer, highlighter, blush, etc.), and then any miscellaneous products go into my basket. This includes makeup palettes, deluxe size foundation, and anything that doesn’t fit into one of my specific categories. This way, I know where to look for each product no matter which part of my face I’m making up.
I got a few questions about my makeup organizer and storage so I thought I’d share a few other great countertop makeup organizers. These are countertop makeup organizers that I have my eyes on since although mine still works, it’s gotten years of use and I’m thinking its end-life is near, so I may be in the business of buying a new one soon. Each of these organizers can be set up on the counter in the bathroom (where I store mine), on a vanity, dresser, tabletop, or any other flat surface. I, personally, like the metal & glass or clear acrylic and rose-gold colored organizers because they bring a little elegance and class to your space and give a high-end look, even though all of these organizers are fairly inexpensive.
