Dr. Seuss Inspiration

Need a little inspiration today? I recently found a strange Dr. Seuss fact that I think warranted an entire post (albeit a short one). Did you know…

Dr. Seuss wrote ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ as part of a wager? Yep, he was a gambling man. His publisher bet him that there was no way he would be able to complete a book with only 50 different words. Soon enough, there was ‘Green Eggs and Ham.‘ This fact caught my attention for a number of reasons.

1) Dr. Seuss not only won the bet and in fact created a book using only 50 words but..

2) ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ could possibly be his most successful book ever. I know when I think of Dr. Seuss, that’s the one that comes to mind.

3) Books with fewer words became a theme for him which allowed him to kind of clear a pathway for other short children’s books.

4) You never know when something so small and (at the time) insignificant is going to explode into something huge and life-changing. Today, Dr. Seuss is recognized globally for his short and rhyming kids’ books . Inspiration is everywhere. Be open to new possibilities, ideas, and perspectives and you might just stumble upon something that changes it all for you.

What’s something you’ve found inspiration in recently?
