Rustic Entertainment Center

Hey all, it’s been a little while since I’ve posted. I’m still here, we’re just trying to get the most out of our summer. Today I’m sharing my rustic entertainment center. I’ve had so many people ask me where I got it because they, themselves are also looking for something similar, or something other than the standard fake wood, huge & gaudy entertainments centers that look like they were shipped here from the ’90s.

Rustic Entertainment Centers

When we bought our house, there was a large cut-out in the living room. I hate these nooks because what do you even put there? It’s not like you’re going to find the perfect piece of furniture to fit the exact size of the nook, correct? I understand their purpose, to save space, but I’m really just not a fan.

Plus, I hate entertainment centers. They’re so ugly, aren’t they? They always look cheap and out of place because they never match the decor of a living room. These are things I was thinking as I took measurements of the cut-out nook in our living room one day, trying to figure out what I was going to place in that spot. Then I remembered RC Willey, a furniture store my husband and I had purchased some of our furniture at years ago, right after we got married.

So I decided to check out their website where I found not just one rustic entertainment center, but so many of them–really cute ones that totally fit in with a rustic, farmhouse look. Cute entertainment centers do exist, they really do. RC Willey has all different sizes, colors, and styles–so many options. After sifting through them all, measuring, re-measuring, and discussing with huz, I found the perfect rustic entertainment center–made from reclaimed wood, painted white, and distressed. Plus the exact fit for the cut-out nook in our living room.

I wasn’t even expecting any of the entertainment centers to fit perfectly, but this one did. Even after we purchased it, the delivery men couldn’t believe what a perfect fit it was–my dad mentioned last time he was here that it looks like this entertainment center was made for our living room. And I couldn’t agree more.

So why did I want a rustic entertainment center? I love the look it gives my living room. And it matches the rest of the decor in my home. I’m all about a French, farmhouse look with one-of-a-kind antiques and vintage items. However, 100 years ago there were no tvs, obviously. Thus, no entertainment centers. So while I love the antique farmhouse look, I knew I wasn’t going to find an antique entertainment center. So I decided to settle for something that gives me the antique farmhouse look, but is actually new.

However, this rustic entertainment center is made with reclaimed wood so I guess it kind of could be an antique. 🙂

Here are the benefits of a rustic entertainment center:

  • Gives your home a farmhouse look
  • Made for a tv/electronics so there’s plenty of space for your equipment/movies/games as opposed to using a table or dresser
  • You can find the perfect size as there are many different options
  • Enhances your home and gives off a “wow factor” because it looks like a built-in
  • Lots of shelving and room for decor if you’re short on space

If you’re looking for your own rustic entertainment center because you have a cut-out in your living room, try RC Willey. Even though they only have stores in a select few states, they deliver/ship all over the country and I have been so impressed with the quality of their furniture.

Here are a few other great rustic entertainment center options from RC Willey if you’re looking to add a farmhouse look to your home:
