Happy Friday! Valentine’s Day is in just three weeks, can you believe it? January has never been my favorite month and I’m ready for the next phase of winter, which brings with it Valentine’s Day. Today I’m excited to share some rustic-glam Valentine’s Day décor ideas by showcasing my rustic-glam decorations I set up in my dining room. This is my favorite part of what I do–well, there are two parts. The first is shopping/hunting for décor, and the second is putting it all together and actually decorating.
Last year I made both a DIY dollar store Valentine’s Day wreath, and a Valentine’s Day garland. I would have liked to have included them in this year’s Valentine’s Day decorations but I can’t find them anywhere; my Valentine’s Day tote has disappeared (ugh). Instead, I did a little shopping so I could create a fun, rustic-glam Valentine’s Day display this week.
I have a few ideas for you if you’re interested in creating your own rustic-glam Valentine’s Day look. I always try to use things I already have before I buy anything new. So, in this post I’ll highlight the things I already had, and let you know what I bought new. I’ll also link to some of these items at the bottom of the page, so make sure to scroll all the way down↓ .
To create this rustic-glam Valentine’s Day look, here are a few ideas:
Galvanized Metal
Galvanized metal gives any décor a rustic look. I used a galvanized two-tiered tray I got at Ross several years ago to display some fun Valentine’s Day items like a Rae Dunn “Ever After” mug, two sweet signs, and other cute fillers (the rest of the decorations are things I already had). I also utilized a large glass jar (similar) with a galvanized metal lid and filled it with faux pink roses. On either side of my display I hung two painted, galvanized metal hearts.
Bright Pink Garland/Banner
Since I couldn’t use my own garland, I bought this bright pink garland (similar) that I strung across the wall to be included as part of the focal point of my Valentine’s Day décor.
Wood
There are lots of wood accents throughout my display including the distressed antique dresser, old cabinet doors, and the edges of the decorative “xoxo” sign. Wood adds depth and masculinity–perfect for a rustic look. And I love the combination and contrast between the wood and the brighter, pink & red decorations.
Vintage-Inspired Sign
I found this wall sign (similar) at Michael’s and knew right away it needed to be part of my Valentine’s Day display. It’s got rustic edges, a feminine font, and a sweet message.
Candles
Candles add a romantic elegance. I like to use them in all kinds of holiday displays and vignettes, as well as in my regular home décor. The pink taper candles can be found at Michael’s, but also check thrift stores because they’re always stocked with never-used candles for every occasion.
Flowers
Real flowers are my favorite, but they don’t last as long as I’d like. A pretty & romantic way to display faux flowers is to fill a glass jar. I also used fun felt bouquets (similar) I found at Target and lined three of them under the wall sign.
Lace
Romantic & feminine, lace is the perfect addition to any rustic-glam Valentine’s Day décor. The vases (similar) displaying the felt flowers are trimmed in white lace and I love the soft, antique look.
Rae Dunn Mugs
Rae Dunn mugs are not required but I do love the farmhouse look they present. I found these at TJ Maxx the other day and had to include them.
I hope you enjoyed my rustic-glam Valentine’s Day décor ideas. What would you add or take away?
