For anyone who hasn’t seen the movie Paddington, please, stop what you’re doing and go watch that movie. I have been sick for seven days straight–including Christmas day. It hasn’t been fun. However, I had a little time to lie on the couch and watch Paddington. Not only is it one of the sweetest movies I’ve seen of late, it’s also set (mostly) in London.
The London townhouse where much of the movies takes place is unbelievably charming. I am all about home decor–it’s one of the things I live for. I’ve been to England a time or two and those Brits sure have an eye for design. They keep things so fun, colorful, quirky, and cozy. In the movie Paddington, the Browns’ house is no different. It has every ounce of British charm that a historic London Townhouse should–along with a touch of mid-century flare. Instead of trying to describe exactly what I’m talking about, I’m just going to show you through a few photos I’ve borrowed from various places on this world wide web. Here they are:
The interior of this quaint little charmer is actually not real, though I wish it were. Each room of this house was built for the set. The exterior, however, is in fact, a real house. Nonetheless, I have decided I must have a painted tree mural in my future home. I also think I need to have a little more fun with my decor style. This house is so lively and so…(dare I say?) British. I love every single thing about it.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these photos of this charming make-believe Wonderland of a house. If you haven’t yet seen Paddington, do so ASAP. If you’d like to buy it, find it here.
*Update* There’s now a Paddington 2 eeek! I haven’t see it yet, but I can’t wait.
