Can you believe this is the last Tuesday before Halloween? Where has the month gone? I feel like there were so many things I planned to do that just got away from me for one reason or another. Like sharing a pretty, feminine fall tablescape. I really wanted to do that. But truth be told, our dining room table’s been out of commission for weeks..maybe longer. I needed to refinish the top of it and come to find out, it’s not solid wood. So, it took a lot of trial and error doing the sanding and trying to find the right colors to not only camoflauge the particle board peeking through in some areas but, give it an overall even tone, and one I actually like. See, I REALLY love this table. Otherwise, I would probably trade it in for something else. But I guess I’m at the point in my life where I’m like, ok, it’s not solid wood, it’s kind of cheap, but if I really love it, I’m gonna keep it. If something brings you joy, you keep it..no matter what it’s made of, right, Marie Kondo? Anyway, I settled on a deep red oak for the finish and I think it’s going to be absolutely beautiful. I’m just waiting on my ultra matte sealant to arrive this week and it’ll be finished and back in our dining room. So I may or may not put together a feminine fall table, but either way, hopefully I’ll find something fun to create. I already have some great Christmas ideas.
This week’s TJ Maxx Finds are a random collection of things I really like. There is no rhyme or reason (except Rae Dunn, of course) but I think next week I’ll start sharing some fun holiday pieces because TJ Maxx has been getting them in on the daily and I’ve been trying so hard to hold off until after Halloween.
