One of my favorite pieces of décor in my entire house is my farmhouse-style growth chart. Not only does it have a rustic-unfinished wood-look that is totally my style and fits in seamlessly with the rest of my decor, but it’s also majorly sentimental to me. I’ve been tracking my babies’ growth with it since they were tiny. After I got it, I even went back through our filing cabinet and collected all of their old doctor visit reports so I could have even their littlest heights recorded. It’s also pretty awesome to be able to see that my giant four-year-old is about an inch and a half taller than his brother was at the same age. Someday, I plan on charting my grandbabies’ height on the very same growth chart. It’s one of those things that you just want to cherish.
One of the coolest things about my growth chart besides how awesome it looks and what it keeps track of, is that you can move it! It’s not like marking a new line on a wall each year and then having to paint over it (and lose it all)when you move 3,000 miles across the country. No, this chart is super durable and can be taken anywhere and remounted on any wall. My growth chart is the single most inquired upon item in my entire house. Everyone wants to know where I got it because they want one, too!
To be honest, mine was made locally and purchased in the “locally made” home décor section of a boutique kids’ hair salon several years ago. However, with a little research, I’ve found exactly where you can get (or make) your own.
Make One
The first option is of course to make your own. I didn’t make mine but I easily could have. I found a few tutorials here, here, and here, if you’re interested.
Wayfair
One of my favorite places to buy items for my home online, Wayfair sells many different styles of growth charts, my favorite is this black schoolhouse/chalkboard-style one that can be used with a chalk pen.
Hobby Lobby
Been in Hobby Lobby lately? Somehow whenever I have a night out with my husband, it usually ends with a long romantic walk down the aisles of Hobby Lobby 😉 With all their fun wall décor, I’m not surprised they have this fun farmhouse growth chart for sale.
Target
Ok, Target has a lot of cool stuff–I was just there today. But a farmhouse-style growth chart? Yep, they sure do! There are a few different options but this whitewash finish is my favorite.
Amazon
Amazon sells everything, right? Pretty much. They definitely sell farmhouse-style growth charts. This one’s my favorite, but they also have some solid wood options, too.
Home Depot
Looking for supplies to make your own growth chart, or actually want to buy one ready to hang? Home Depot has both! I like this wooden white one, but they also have blue and pink.
Walmart
Walmart’s cork-made growth chart is not only inexpensive, but could also double as a bulletin board, if you’d like.
Etsy
My favorite place to buy all things handmade, Etsy has so many farmhouse-style growth chart options. I love this one that can be monogrammed and/or personalized.
Do you have a growth chart hanging in your home? Where did you get it?
